Cheryl Burke is one of the most memorable pros to ever appear on Dancing With The Stars. Not only has she won the Mirror Ball Trophy two times, but she spent several years dancing with numerous partners. Burke entertained with some spectacular dances throughout the seasons. However, since hanging up her dancing shoes, the pro dancer has started to open up about her experiences on the show. She’s also spilling some major tea about what really goes on behind the scenes of the competition series.
Burke revealed on her Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast that it would benefit a DWTS contestant to be single when signing up for the show. The dancer claims that with all of the time that the celebrity and their professional partner are forced to spend together, things can get intimate and even romantic. “Be single if you do Dancing with the Stars, that’s all I’m saying,” Burke quipped, per Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s an arranged marriage,” Cheryl Burke stated. “You either love each other or hate each other, for real. It’s so intimate and you’re stuck with this person,” the Dancing With The Stars fan-favorite added. “You get close in so many ways. These celebrities are so vulnerable because in order to succeed, you have to strip it all down. And that alone, I bet you most of these married celebrities have never even done that with their wives.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Burke has spilled some major secrets about DWTS. She’s previously revealed that she had to fight hard to have a farewell dance before retiring. She also admitted that she was not invited to return to the show to honor late judge Len Goodman. It was also revealed that she wanted a role as a judge or co-host. However, that didn’t pan out either.
Although Cheryl Burke is no longer a member of the Dancing With The Stars cast, she seems to love dishing dirt about the show. Perhaps a tell-all book will be in her future.
