The Office reboot is officially a go, and fans are more than excited. Although it will definitely be hard to recapture the magic of the original series, the new show should be full of laughs. There are high expectations for the series, which is said to be set at a dying newspaper. There will be a whole new cast of characters to fall in love with, and new stories to explore as the documentary-style television series continues in the footsteps of his iconic predecessor.
The show is said to be titled The Paper, at least for now. However, it’s unlikely that fans will see any of their favorite characters from The Office in the new series. Actor Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott on the show says that he’ll be watching. However, he did admit that he won’t be making a cameo on the series. Carell is giving The Office reboot his seal of approval, according to ComicBook.com.

“I’m excited about it, it sounds like a great conceit,” he recently revealed. “I love the idea — I guess it’s set in a failing newspaper company. And I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the leads, I did The Patient with him and he’s an excellent actor and a super nice guy so I think it’ll be great.”
In addition to Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore will also take a leading role on The Paper. Greg Daniels is returning as the showrunner and executive producer. The series has reportedly been given the green light and will stream on Peacock in the future.
Of course, fans are excited to see what The Paper can do. “I’m happy The Office cinematic universe (OCU) is finally expanding,” one person tweeted. “A new series with fresh new characters in a similar setting. We as America need another good office comedy,” another stated. “I love Domhnall Gleeson and he might hit the mark with the humor. I’m hopeful!” a third fan commented.
Meanwhile, The Office remains a staple for many avid television fans. The show is beloved by millions and continues to be streamed across the globe. With memorable characters such Dwight, Pam, Jim, Creed, Andy, Kelly, and others, the new show has some big shoes to fill.
